Determination

Determination and being "competitive" are not one and the same. Determination means be competitive with yourself, to strive to achieve a goal, even when that goal is hard to achieve.
An easy goal, a black belt achieved in a few years, is not one that fosters determination. Quite possibly the opposite, that goals are easy to achieve.
Our ethos of pushing every child to work hard and find their own limit builds determination.
Whilst there are standards to meet for each grade, the fundamental standard is, how hard did you work to earn your belt, not how high you can kick.
